Grosvenor Centre Macclesfield

The works consisted of demolition and rebuild of a section of the existing shopping centre, refurbishment of the existing mall areas and alterations to, and refurbishment of an existing commercial building fronting the site.

On completion of the demolition CFA piling was carried out to create pile cap bases to carry the steel frame for the new building. The new building was constructed of a steel frame clad with a combination of insulated aluminium cladding sheets, insulated render panels, masonry and lightweight stone cladding.

The refurbishment works in the mall areas consisted of re-cladding to existing stone clad columns between the shop fronts and refurbishing the stainless steel capping plates at the tops of the columns.

The refurbishment to the existing commercial property included the introduction of a new floor at first floor level to maintain a level floor through from the new shopping centre areas. Structural alterations were also undertaken to create new retail premises that join on to the new shopping centre development.

M&E services have been installed throughout the new development to provide services to the new units.
