The Rural Enterprise Academy

The Rural Enterprise Academy

Design and construction of new two storey teaching block and sports hall together with refurbishment of 2 existing teaching buildings with interlinking atriums.

A quick start was required by the client and was made to clear the way for the Refurbishment of Existing Teaching, Administration and Welfare space, and addition of a whole new Teaching Block and Sports Hall to create the New Rural Enterprise Academy at Rodbaston Hall site.

The project involved the clearance of numerous old buildings and redundant facilities to create the space for the new buildings. The existing buildings were stripped and put back together and handed back in August . This allowed the college to use to teach temporarily until the new buildings were ready February 2013.

A considerable amount of effort was put into the project with the client to value engineer the scheme to make it viable, whilst keeping the required facilities, and at the same time watching the clock as to when it needs to be delivered by. Even as fundamental changes to layout were requested a few days before start on site, B & K Building Services maintained the ingrained ‘can do’ attitude and forged ahead with the feasibility of this new layout.
